ATTENTION STUDENTS:

Many of you enroll into our program and come prepared to begin your academic studies and culture experience. However, from our experience, a lot of you do not know where to begin with your basic and essential needs.

Please see below our suggestions and resources we have pulled for you. We hope you can find most of your answers on this page, but if don’t, you are welcomed to contact New Oasis for any additional questions/answers. Don’t forget, your host parents may have the answers to many of the questions that you may have as well. Our host parents are always willing to help, so please ask them too.

School start dates for the 2012-2013 school year (keep in mind that some students may need to return earlier than these dates for sports, orientations, etc.):

Cape Henry: New student orientation on Aug 22nd. School starts Aug 27th
Greensboro: New student orientation on Aug 21st. School starts Aug 22nd, but we suggest arriving a week early.
Notre Dame: Aug 26th is New Student Orientation. School starts Aug 28th.
Bishop O’Connell: Freshmen arrive Aug 23 and the rest of the student body begins Aug 28th. Orientation for transfer students in Aug 23rd.
Calvary Baptist: All 10th – 12th graders are required to attend outdoor education Aug 29-31. Fall sports practices begin around mid August (soccer for boys and volleyball for girls). School starts Sept 4th
Lancaster Catholic: Students should arrive no later that Aug 23rd since there is an orientation meeting for international students and host families on Aug 24th. School starts Aug 27th (new students) Aug 28th (returning students)
Lancaster Country:  School starts Aug 22nd. Back to school night and family orientation tentatively scheduled for Aug 20th.
Lehigh Valley:Aug 13 fall sports practices begin. New student orientation Sept 4th. School starts Sept 5th
Norfolk Collegiate: Orientation is Aug 22nd, school starts Aug 23rd. It’s best if students arrive at least a week before Orientation so that they can meet with an academic counselor at the school to secure their course schedule and order books.
North Raleigh: High School Open House on Aug 7th.  School starts Aug 13th, but we recommend arriving by Aug 6th.
Peninsula Catholic: New student orientation Aug 15th. School starts Aug 20th
Walsingham: School starts Aug 21st, but we recommend arriving a week early.
Pius X: School starts Aug 27th
Atlantic Shores: Orientation is Aug 20th. School starts Aug 22nd, but we recommend arriving at least a week early.
Bishop McGuiness: New student orientation Aug 20th. School starts Aug 22nd, all students should arrive by Aug 20th
Bethlehem Catholic: First day for Freshmen and new students is Aug 28th. School starts Aug 29th.
